Things you do for your family.

Never in my wildest dreams have I imagined myself creating a character for Dungeons and Dragons. For those who are not familiar with D&D, it is a fantasy role-playing game; where players create characters that later embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. Anyway my husband and sons played the beginner level of this game from time to time. For some reason now they decided to try a real thing. Apparently it is better to play it with more than two characters, so it was crucial for me to join in. They weren’t very subtle in their campaign, heavily relying on persistence and guilt. I dodged their attacks as long as I could but finally gave up. That is why I found myself today engaging in following conversation:

I: Oh, so I can choose the colour of eyes and hair for my character? Ok, I want orange hair and purple eyes.

My husband: You can’t, nobody have orange hair and purple eyes, it isn’t realistic.

I: I am an elfin thief, who is chaotically good, who can see in the dark and find secret passages, and I cannot have orange hair and purple eyes?

My husband: Come on, you have to take it seriously. No self-respecting elf will have oranger hair and purple eyes, it simply doesn't ring true.

I really hope you ignored the naysayers and did it anyway, since everyone knows that all the best elven thieves have orange hair and purple eyes (in fact, this may even be a requirement ...)

I slightly modified my request - meet Lina, elven thief, with oranger hair and violet eyes :)
