First Snow of the Season

We have our first snow. It is always such a happy occasion! Considering that today is my special day, it was fun to look out of the window and see the blanket of white shimmering snow. Everything instantly look dressier with it and now with sun, shining bright, it is especially beautiful. First snow, like first leaves in the spring or first rainbow holds a promise of new beginning, better things, exciting surprises. You know it isn't here to stay, it will be gone by the end of the day, and this prompt you to enjoy it even more - get out, engage in a snowball fight, make a snow angel, or use the pristine canvas for writing. The last option was exactly what my kids chose to do in the morning.
