Winter Treasures

It was such a golden day today; literally golden, soaked in the sun, tinted in warm yellow hues. Even the grass, which stands almost white now, took on a honeyed glow.
The temperature fell below zero, and ice arranged its decorations all over. It hangs some icicles on the grass near the stream, drew whimsical patterns on the lake surface, and grew crystals in the mud. A lava field became a giant treasure box, where we kept finding
one gem after another. There on the side of the hill we found small red berries; can it be cowberries?
